So, you should know by now that I don’t make the healthiest food in the world. But, I think this recipe might take it to the next level. Let me start by saying cheeseburger. Now, chorizo. Plus, fried egg. On a bagel. I mean really, who cares about arteries and all that. All I care about is feasting.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. pepper
1 Tsp. garlic powder
1 Tsp. onion powder
1/2 lb. pork chorizo
Sharp cheddar cheese
4 large eggs
4 bagels
Start by mixing the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder in with the ground beef. Split your beef into 4 equal servings. I always mix my beef, mash it down into my bowl and draw a “cross” so there are 4 sections. Then, I break them up and roll them into balls that I can smash flat. Use your hands, you’ll get messy, who cares!
Get a skillet hot on medium-high heat and place all 4 burgers in. Cook for 6 minutes on each side, until brown and very little pink remains in the center.
While they are cooking you can cook your chorizo.
Top your burgers with cheese, turn the heat down to low and put a lid on the pan, so your cheese melts.
While your cheese is melting, remove the cooked chorizo from its pan and use the drippings from the chorizo to fry your eggs (you may need to add a little butter or oil if you pan starts to get dry).
All that is left is to build your sandwich!
I topped mine with the chorizo first and then the egg, in hopes that the egg would stop the chorizo from crumbling off my sandwich.
I AM SALIVATING. This burger alone combines everything I love in life. I had a conversation with Jack about this mystical burger you spoke of and he was excited to see the recipe too “I wonder how she cooks her burgers..” Thanks for the step by step directions so that this idiot can perhaps make it soon!
