I’m definitely on a gingerbread kick this holiday. Last year I was all about pumpkin all the way through December, but this year I am loving the rich, full flavor of gingery, molasses-y gingerbread! I’m usually a black coffee drinker, but for some reason when I see snow on the ground, I’m ready to add some sweet, creamy coffee creamer to my morning cup every single day. It puts me in a holiday mood! I made this gingerbread coffee creamer last weekend and I only use a few teaspoons in my coffee and it gives it a rich, spicy flavor that I crave during December.
Gingerbread Coffee Creamer Recipe
1 cup half and half or heavy cream
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon molasses
1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch ground cloves
Pinch all spice
1-2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
Get your cream into a mason jar to the 1-cup line.
Add in your molasses and sugar and spices.
Give it a really good shake until you see the molasses disappear and the color of the cream turn a nice light, caramel color.
And that’s it! You’re ready to pour this into a hot cup of coffee and get your festive on!
