This weekend my friend Andrea came to visit! She has been one of my best friends since FOURTH GRADE and I love that she can come visit and be completely content sitting on my couch eating junk food and watching movies we’ve already seen 948324 times.
This visit, we decided to be a little more adventurous and trek our way to Andersonville for some lunch and a day at the beach. Surprisingly, both of us went in the water all the way up to our knees, due to the 90 degree (perfect!!) weather. A shopping trip to Zara was basically necessary and we ended up having dinner at my new favorite, Fork, in Lincoln Square.
Per usual, after we returned from dinner we chugged some sangria, laughed at pictures from senior prom and then passed out by midnight watching I Love You Man. Yes, I said sangria! I decided to make my own sangria for her visit.
Ingredients:
1.5L white wine
3/4 cup Peach Pucker
1 lemon, thinly sliced
5 strawberries, sliced
1 small green apple
Sprite for mixing
Ice
Preparation:
- Add the wine and pucker to a large pitcher
- Chop or slice your fruit in any way you like. I would definitely only slice the lemons, but you can chop the rest. Also feel free to use any fruit you like. I looked at the label of the wine I chose and tried to stay in the same fruit families
- Add the fruit to the wine/pucker and stir with a large spoon.
- Let it sit in your refrigerator for at least 2 hours
- Pour over 1/2 glass of ice until glass is 3/4 full (You will need to spoon the fruit into the glass)
- Top with Sprite and stir before serving
It ended up being SUPER easy and after making this once, I am fairly certain that it would be impossible to ever mess it up, even making alterations.
