cooking, baking, and a home in the making

April Favorites!

I hope you had an amazing April! The rain has been coming down here – The grass is finally green, the trees are blooming and it is almost time for my first 5k! Here’s to a great finish to a beautiful month and here are my April Favorites:

April Favorites

1. Edwards Pies

Okay seriously. Why do these have to exist? I used to be able to talk myself out of buying pre-made pies because I knew I wouldn’t ever eat all of it and it would just take up room in my freezer. But guess what I found. Individual Edwards Pie servings. My life is officially over. My new favorite after-dinner pastime includes wrapping up in a blanket, watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix and diving into one of the Hershey Creme Pies. It’s pure heaven.

2. Clothing Swaps

My friends in WV just organized our very first clothing swap. Not only was it a blast sitting around drinking Disney inspired cocktails and voting yay or nay on the makeshift runway, I ended up with some awesome new duds for free! My favorite steal? A magenta colored sweater with a sequined tiger head. SWOON!

3. Herbal Essences Cleansing Conditioner

I asked my friend Katie, “Do you hate washing your hair?” and she immediately replied, “Is this an infomercial for Wen?” I had no idea what Wen was, but apparently it is similar to this Cleansing Conditioner that I am now in love with. I HATE washing my hair now that I’m growing it out and this cuts the time in half because it’s just one step. My main concerns were that my hair would be either greasy or tangled/dry and I get neither. I definitely cannot use this every day as I need a deep clean every couple days, but when I am feeling super lazy and need a wash, it’s my new go-to!

4. Frozen Seafood

I’ve sung the praise of pre-cooked, frozen shrimp before and I’m not done yet. I love having a bag of pre-cooked shrimp in my freezer because I can just thaw in a bowl of water, yank the tails off and dinner is ready! I’ve also started stocking up on frozen cod fillets and will never let my supply run dry. You pop them out of a freezer, still frozen, onto a baking sheet, cook them and then you’re eating a dinner that is easy and healthy. Win-win situation.

5. A Cheeky Fox

This is my friend Caitlin’s blog and I am officially obsessed. Not only does she cover new beauty trends and review hot beauty products, she is seriously hilarious. She’s got some sass, which I respect. She’s in the know about celeb gossip, TV shows, amazing beauty trends and the latest Beyonce news. What’s not to love here?!
