Happy New Year!

Mac and Molly New year 2014

Happy 2014! I hope your NYE was everything you’d hoped it would be. My plans changed and I ended up being home in West Virginia for the night, but I really can’t complain! I watched Bridesmaids, drank champagne and actually took time to reflect on what I want to see from this new year. I am one of the suckers that makes resolutions every year, but this year I decided to make them a little more attainable. I only have two, and I plan on letting myself figure them both out as I go.

1. Be Happier

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a few anxiety issues. When I really sit and think about them, they stem from worrying about everything. If I’m going out to dinner with friends, I can think of about 16 things to worry about before I go. Why? It does absolutely no good. I plan on letting myself have fun, be carefree and try, for once in my life, to go with the flow. It won’t be easy, but I need to let a few less things bother me to be a calmer, happier person.

2. Be Healthier

I am not going on a diet. I am not trying to drop any weight. I want to feel good and hope that this second resolution helps me meet my first. You can only hear so many times that exercise and eating right helps with your mood and overall health before you decide to act on it. This means I might have to swap out some fruit for the Cheetos, but I’m okay with that.

So what can you expect from Mac + Molly in 2014?

  • Expect more vegetables!
  • Don’t expect less pasta or cheese, it is just not going to happen.
  • Expect a few healthy alternatives to some classics.
  • Don’t expect fewer cocktails.. ever.
  • Expect a few more life details and whole lot more Molly pictures.

What are your resolutions to have a happy new year? Do you have any tips for me to meet mine?
